Make sure your beds and trees are mulched to help them get through the coming hot months.
Watch out for spider mites on passion vines, junipers, gardenias, and other ornamental plants. Use an insecticidal soap or strong blasts of water from your water hose on the under side of the leaves.
Try not to water the foliage on zinnia's. If they get a lot of water, they will get a fungal disease.
Pick off spent flowers on plants such as marigolds, dahlias, and roses. Keep feeding them throughout this month and next.
Fertilize your mums this month, and stop pinching off the spent flowers.
Lawn
Keep you lawn watered deeply. One good watering is better than several shallow waterings.
You can continue to plant Bermuda and St. Augustine this month.
You can fertilize St. Augustine and Bermuda especially if you did not fertilize them in the spring.
Keep weeds under control by pulling them out.
Trees
Prune your peach and plum trees down to three main branches.
Peach trees should be fertilized now with nitrogen fertilizer.
Keep fig trees well watered.
Look for white fly on your citrus trees. Treat them with summer oil spray.
